BOOK SYNOPSIS

Patient. Merciful. Protective… One out of three ain’t bad.

Small time crook Gabriel Kemp is just trying to make a living when a hit-and-run leaves him for dead. Waking up in hospital to an angel at his bedside gives him a second chance, but one that comes with a condition.

Fleeing San Francisco doesn’t mean he can evade the deal either – he still manages to meet Abigail Harris, the woman he’s promised to protect. He might not believe in the psychic visions she claims to have, but he knows if there’s even a chance she can identify the serial killer terrorizing downtown L.A. then she’s in danger.

The only way to keep Abby safe is to find and stop the killer. If that means taking on the devil determined to turn the City of Angels into the City of Hell on Earth, then so be it.

EXCERPT

“You came,” she whispered. “You really came.”

What was wrong with me and attracting crazy women lately? I frowned and picked up an angel. Male, in jeans and a tee, features blurred in a way that made my stomach clench.

“I didn’t realize I was expected,” I said sourly, putting the damn thing down again. Glancing towards her, I caught the way her hands knotted on the grubby apron around her waist.

“I didn’t…expect, but I hoped. I prayed.”

Oh, God. I pinched the bridge of my nose. “Look, whoever you think I am you’re sorely mistaken. I was just passing. On my way to the Laundromat.”

A small smile curved her lips. “You must be very new if you think that will work. Don’t you realize I can see them?”

“See what?”

“Your wings.”

My what, now? “Pardon?”

“Your wings.” She smiled again, her eyes fixed at some point just behind me. “They’re exactly as I dreamed them.”

I took a step away from the crazy lady. I needed to change my cologne, demand a refund or something. Why the hell had I even come in here? So much for indulging a passing ironic interest.

“Uh huh, course you did.”

She gave a high-pitched giggle and rolled her eyes. I moved back another step as she wavered closer, but her attention was on the counter and the angel I’d picked up. The creepy, featureless one that made my skin crawl.

“The wings were very clear, your face wasn’t. That was disconcerting. I usually see very clearly.”

What I saw clearly was that I needed to get out of there. Oxygen was suddenly in short supply, the walls that surrounded me solid and overbearing. An old but familiar panic crawled up my throat, choking me.

“I’m not what you think I am,” I told her, wincing at the desperation that colored my tone.

She just smiled and fondled the angel. I tried not to look at it, afraid of what I’d see.

The ironic thing was that I’d dropped everything and bussed a few hundred miles in an attempt to avoid this very meeting. I didn’t believe in fate, but something had pulled me here. The idea terrified me and I did what I always did when faced with anything that remotely resembled responsibility.

I ran.

EXCERPT

“Quiet!” a voice hissed, as a hand clamped over her mouth and Leah felt herself pressed against a hard, male body. Muscular arms folded around her like a band of iron.

She tried to scream again and struggled, kicking back with her heels. She heard a sound of annoyance and the hand fell from her mouth for a second. Before she could scream again, a voice she recognised spoke urgently in her ear.

“Leah! Leah! It’s me!”

He let go of her, then strong hands gripped her shoulders and gave her a sharp shake. Her head snapped back and her scream was cut off. Leah staggered backwards, staring at the man in front of her.

“Toran?”

He glanced around, then moved swiftly, taking her right arm and leading her towards the building entrance. She stumbled along beside him, trying to keep up with his long strides, as they passed through the lobby of the building and headed towards the lifts.

“What—”

“Get in,” he said tersely as the lift doors opened.

“No.” She balked. “Not until you explain what’s going on. And what the hell you thought you were doing just now, manhandling me like that.”

He glanced back the way they had come and gave her a gentle push. “I don’t have time to explain now.”

“Well, I don’t care. I want—”

“GET. IN.”

The look on his face scared her. This was not the boy she used to know, but a man who could be dangerous. Very dangerous. She stepped into the lift and stood well away from him as the doors swished shut after them, and the hum of machinery told her that they were ascending.

“Where are we going?” she demanded.

“To the fifteenth floor.” He ran a hand through his hair. “Leah, I’m sorry; this wasn’t how I planned the evening at all—”

“Oh, really? You mean you don’t always attack your dates and maul them as soon as you see them? I guess I should be honoured that I get that special privilege!” She was angry now—angry at how scared she had been, angry at his strange behaviour, maybe even angry at herself for feeling a thrill of excitement when she had been pressed up against his body. She remembered the way his chest felt, hard under her hands, and the rough thrust of his thigh against hers, and her face burned. Whatever it was she had expected to feel when she saw Toran James again, it wasn’t this raw attraction.

“Don’t be melodramatic,” he said.

“Melodramatic? Me?” Her voice rose in indignation. “You’re the one with the kidnapping act!”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just… Someone might have heard you scream and—” He broke off.

“And what?” She raised her eyebrows.

The lift pinged and the doors slid open.

“Come on,” he said, putting a hand to her elbow.

“No!” Leah pulled her arm away. “I’m not going anywhere with you until you explain. I’ve barely been in Singapore twenty-four hours and already I feel like I’m in some bad B-movie. What the hell is going on, Toran? Why did you contact me again after all these years? Why did you ask me to meet you last night?”

He said impatiently, “Because I wanted to see you, of course.”

“Don’t lie,” Leah snapped. “There’s more to it than that. I know about the yacht explosion.” She saw with satisfaction that he had gone very still. “Why didn’t you mention that when you saw me last night?”

The doors had slid shut again. Suddenly, the lift seemed a lot smaller. Leah felt a flare of panic. What was she thinking, confronting him here in this tight, airless space? She flew towards the controls, but he stepped forwards, blocking her with his body. His hand shot out and gripped her wrist. Leah felt herself pulled up against him, pressed once more against the taut, muscular length of his body. She gasped, throwing her head back. The pad of his thumb brushed against the soft skin on the inside of her wrist and a shudder of awareness ran up her arm.

“I’ll explain, but not here. Not now. You have to trust me.” His green eyes burned into hers.

TOUR-ABOUTBOOK

Sexual dysfunction. The words make Sibyll cringe, but after one too many failed relationships, she has to face reality. Her O-button is broken, big time. Sick of sitting on the sexual sidelines, she books a week at Boot Knockers Ranch. If a passel of rugged cowboys vying to bring her bliss can’t get her off, nothing will.

Hugh had planned to sit out this week’s rotation of sexual therapy, but when he spots sultry Sibyll, he pulls rank. His bone-deep urge to possess her isn’t enough to coax elusive orgasms out of her body, though. And his resolve to give the lady whatever she needs wavers when she shyly makes a mind-blowing request.

Riggs stepped aside when Hugh muscled in to claim Sibyll, but he jumps at the chance to fulfill her ultimate fantasy—a threesome. But once they come together, all barriers are stripped away, exposing his love for the one man—and woman—he’d break every last rule to make his own.

TOUR-EXCERPT

Sibyll followed her gaze to the door between stage entrance and hallway several feet away. His back was to her and the other dozen women, his shoulders taking up most of the door frame and his white T-shirt molded to a chiseled back. Sibyll outlined his back muscles with her gaze, cutting a path down to a backside hugged by worn denim.

The cowboy pivoted. His face was illuminated by the overhead lights as he talked to the perky Isabel, the ringleader of this insane audition process.

“He has a black eye!” someone whispered.

“From a bar fight? Please let it be from a bar fight!” a woman with a gorgeous head of red hair and thick glasses added.

The cowboy raised his head and stared at the women. Suddenly Sibyll’s muscles tensed to run. She didn’t want to be here, had made the wrong decision. So what if I can’t experience “physical and emotional sensation at the peak of sexual excitation” according to Dictionary.com?

Isabel swooped through the door and pointed at the curvaceous brunette to Sibyll’s right.

“You’re next.” Then she returned to the doorway, where she leaned and talked to the cowboy with the black eye.

Dust motes swirled hectically in the lights streaming from the stage. Sibyll tried to follow one with her eyes. Anything to keep from looking directly at that cowboy’s handsome, rugged face.
He was huge—tall and broad and muscled in all the ways that made the knot in Sibyll’s core want to unravel. But it never did.

Maybe if he fights to win me, I could.

He glanced up again, and the group of women tittered. The leggy blonde was led offstage on the arm of a cowboy wearing all black except his shiny silver and turquoise belt buckle.

“Wow, he’s fine. Jenny’s lucky to get him,” the virgin whispered after they passed. They stopped at the door, and the production manager moved to the side so they could pass.

The black-eyed cowboy with the two-day-old dark stubble on his jaw shook hands with both cowboy and contestant.

“You—sexy secretary—you’re next.” The production manager jabbed a finger in Sibyll’s direction.

She looked around herself. A slight girl to her right wore a peasant dress and thong sandals, and the tall, toned girl to her left wore sporty shorts and a T-shirt with an energy drink logo.

“Wh—? Me?” Sibyll pointed to her chest.

“Yep, you.” The production manager whirled back to speak with the cowboy, but he’d strolled through the door and was making his molasses-sweet way across the stage.

He passed the first group of contestants, who froze like a herd of deer in the middle of Highway 495. He dipped his head and positioned a battered brown cowboy hat on it. “Howdy,” he drawled, lips curled in the perfect dose of Southern gentleman and cocky bad-boy.

Feminine sighs sounded in response. Sibyll’s heart thumped as he neared her small group standing nearest to the stage. The closer he got, the more his bulk seemed to take up all the space in the room. Or maybe that was testosterone.

He dropped a wink at the virgin and leaned in to speak to her. “The black eye was nothin’ as glamorous as a kick-ass bar fight. Took a hoof yesterday working with the horses.” He straightened and settled his gaze right on Sibyll.

She stopped breathing as electricity passed between them.

That’s my imagination. I’m so keyed up.

The cowboy cleared his throat but didn’t say anything. Around them, women gawked. Hell, even Isabel the production manager stood with her mouth open, glancing between the huge cowboy and her clipboard.

“Hugh, you’re not filling in today, are you?” Isabel asked.

The man blinked, severing his hold on Sibyll. He shook his head. “Nah, I’m not competin’ today. I’m Master of Games as usual.” He pinned Sibyll again with his gaze. Something dark and exciting coiled low in her belly. What if this man did stand up for her?

I’d choose him in a heartbeat.

My 5 Star review of Pushin’ Buttons

images (4)

I am a big fan of Em Petrova’s books and especially her menage stories. In fact I blame her and her BFF Suzanne Rock for introducing me to the genre.

Pushin’ Buttons was a great read but I warn you, you will need a fan while you read it. Two hunky cowboys who have the hots for each other  and one troubled woman who has never managed to orgasm was always going to make for a sizzling story. And Ms Petrova certainly delivers.

Firstly, I love the characters in this book. Although I doubt I’ve ever met a real life cowboy, these guys are exactly what I imaging cowboys to be. Hugh is very much an alpha and pulls rank on Riggs, claiming the girl in the first instance. But when he can’t give her what she needs, she suggests a threesome.

I don’t want to say much more as I’ll end up explaining the twists and turns with lead to the happy ending. But as I have come to expect from Ms Petrova, the sex scenes are steamy and delicious. At no point are any of the characters an add on to another relationship. They are all important in themselves – something that takes a certain amount of skill.

So if you like a hot story, interesting characters and some real entertainment for a few hours, you can’t do better than grabbing a copy of Pushin’ Buttons by Em Petrova.

Don’t forget to enter the rafflecopter to win a Kindle tablet, gift cards, paperbacks and swag and be sure to check out the other blogs taking part.

The funniest thing happened when I was looking for inspiration for this blog. I love spring. Living in Scotland, we do have very dark winters so the clocks going forward and Easter herald a real new dawn for us languishing up here. (We’re actually probably further south than most of Canada but we don’t even get much snow to liven up winter).

I went to google and typed in Naked men and daffodils, hoping to find a cute man clutching a bunch of my favourite bloom, but alas google gave me a rather strange mix of pasty looking dudes with their bits covered with strategically placed vases of flowers and … well all sorts of strange pictures of people inserting fruit into themselves etc. Weird, huh?

So I typed in Naked Man flowers. Now I know you’ll all be happy that I found this dude.

But I also found all these pics too.

Needless to say the childish part of me exploded. Yes it is rather infantile to laugh but they are cute. and if I could keep a money plant alive for more than five days, i would try to grow these. Bur alas, gardening is not my strong point. If I remember to cut the grass, I am doing well.

So there we have it. My contribution to the Spring Blog Hop… naughty looking orchids.

Talking of naughty, why not look up At Their Service, my MMF Cinderella menage. I will be giving away a copy to one person who leaves a comment at the end of the blog.

Can a prince, a maid, and a valet live happily ever after? AtTheirService_ByIslaMunro-200x300

TOUR-EXCERPT

The next morning, Hope was watching her feet as she climbed the steps to the library. She cursed to herself as she tasted the tangy-sweet saliva in her mouth again. Maybe it was some sort of building issue? She’d never heard of asbestos making people taste funny things, but she’d be sure to ask the other employees today, just in case.

As she neared the top of the stairs, Hope felt the prickly feeling yet again, and her gaze rose to the man standing in front of the library doors waiting.

“Aren’t the doors open?” She tried to sound solicitous, but the truth of the matter was, this guy took her breath away. It was the man that had watched her all day yesterday.

“Yes, but I won’t be staying today.” The low rumble of his voice greeted her a cheery good morning unlike anything else she could ask for. Just the sound of his voice made her day perfect.

“Oh.” Disappointed that he wouldn’t be in her little room of the library bit through the fog of his voice.

“Come to dinner with me tonight.”

Shocked speechless, she stared at him. He had an air of expectation about him, and his forehead crinkled in thought at the same time that she heard his luxurious voice rumble inside her head.

Come. Say yes. His sexy-as-sin voice resonated inside her head.

Hope’s eyes darted around, making sure there wasn’t anybody else who could have done that, before she looked back up at him. “You don’t have to use the force on me. I’m thinking. I was just taken by surprise, is all.”

Both of his eyebrows rose, almost to his hairline and his eyes widened in surprise. “You heard that?”

“Didn’t you mean for me to?” She countered, putting a hand on her hip.

His face remained impassive. “Well…yes. But usually it’s not so obvious.” His tone of voice suggested he wasn’t expecting Hope to call him on his little trick, and seeing that gave her a little boost of confidence.

“You go around using Jedi mind tricks on women to get dates often?”

He chuckled, and his eyes dropped to the ground. “No. I’ve never done it for a date, no.”

Hope’s eyes roamed his body from his feet, clad in shiny leather loafers, up his gray woolen slacks (Hello, Fifty), to the black sweater vest he wore over a white long-sleeved button down shirt, open at the collar. His face held strong features: a square jaw with a small dimple in the middle, high, obscenely high cheekbones, a rather large mouth that made her mind travel to erotic places, and those eyes… The man exuded a strength that wasn’t visible. Well, it was visible, he looked like his muscles had muscles, but he had an air of intense power and vigor about him that told Hope he expected people to do what he said. Often.

Then her eyes traveled to herself. She had worn black dress pants today, with a shirt that actually sort of fit her large breasts, although it showed a little more cleavage than she was comfortable with. Hope looked at him again, and his eyes held the question. What was her answer?

“Why?”

The question in his eyes turned to surprise. Apparently, this guy didn’t get questioned very often. An image flitted through her mind, the two of them together at a table, lit with candles, Hope’s head thrown back in laughter.

She narrowed her eyes at him. “Did you do that, too?”

He had the grace to look sheepish. “Will you go to dinner with me?”

“No.”

His head snapped up, and his mouth fell open. “Why not?”

“Because I’m having dinner with my parents tonight. But you didn’t answer my question? Why do you want to take me out?”

It was his turn to peruse her. His eyes started at her feet, and slowly worked their way up her body. By the time they reached her face, Hope was squirming. “Why not?” The timbre of his voice washed over her, like it had yesterday, and Hope actually felt her breasts get heavier, as if they were swelling out of her bra.

Why not, indeed?

“Okay, my lunch is from one to two.”

“I’ll pick you up here, then? At one o’clock?”

Hope nodded, suddenly speechless again, unable to look away as he turned his long, lean frame and deftly descended the steps. Suppressing the urge to do a happy dance, lest he turn around and catch her, she scurried inside the library.

TOUR-EXCERPT

Mmm…I was having the most wonderful dream—one that seemed so real. I could feel myself squirming in my sleep from the vividness of soft lips making their way down my ribs. It wasn’t until I felt my legs being moved apart that I realized where I was. Oh, my! Oliver was clearly a man of his word.

I opened my eyes the moment I felt his fingers slip into my yearning body.

“Morning, Jade,” he smirked as he hovered over me.

“You weren’t joking last night about picking up where we left off in the morning, were you?” I giggled. He answered me with a soft kiss, which I returned as he set a slow pace with his fingers.
I’d never really been one for morning sex, because well…truthfully, it wasn’t very often that I stayed the entire night. I had to admit, though, that I was looking forward to a few more mornings like this with Oliver.

“I never joke about this.” Oliver’s voice a few moments later was like a trigger that set my orgasm into motion. Before I knew what happening, I was falling hard and fast. “I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of watching you come undone, Jade,” he smiled once I’d regained myself. As my eyes wandered down his exquisite body, I noticed that he’d already put a condom on.

“We’ve only known each other for two days. I can’t believe how well you know my body already.”

“I’ve never felt this connection with anyone before.” Oliver shifted above me and we both groaned as his length pushed against my heated center. “It’s going to be hard for me to leave you today. I’m already used to having you around.”

“I hope we can meet again soon,” I panted, feeling Oliver slowly push deep inside me.

“As soon as I’m free, I’ll fly out to you. It will be easier for me to come to you first, ” he strained. It only took a second to let go, and when I did, I became a slave to his touches.

“You’re eating breakfast?” he questioned over the table a few hours later. I could now happily admit that I loved morning sex! It was clearly the best way to start any day.

“Well, it is the most important meal of the day,” I grinned, taking a bite of my toast. “Not to mention, I think I need the energy after my early morning wake-up call.”

“I’m impressed,” Oliver chuckled, continuing to read his newspaper.

“Are you nervous about your meeting this morning?” I asked, pouring myself some more coffee.

“No. I’m used to these kinds of meetings.” He didn’t even look up from the article in front of him as he spoke.

“Have you met many world leaders in the past?”

“I’ve met most of them, actually.” His tone was a little arrogant as he looked up to smirk at me. Oh, Oliver… You have no idea, but I already know every little detail about you.

“You’ve met most of them?” I gawked with my mouth hanging open. Yeah, I had the act down to a fine art. “Jesus, Oliver, if these are the people you socialize with, what the hell are you doing with me?”

“It’s my job, Jade. I don’t choose to socialize with them. Trust me, I’d much rather spend the rest of the day with you.” He had a gleam in his eyes as he spoke, and I only needed one guess as to what was crossing his mind at that moment. I decided to play with him a bit.

“Is everything about sex with you?” I asked innocently, running my hands through my hair and tilting my head slightly to expose more of my neck to him. I was wearing one of his shirts, and only a few buttons were buttoned.

“What do you mean by that?” By his tone, I thought I might have offended him.

“I was just wondering if that’s what this is.” I started fidgeting with my napkin, intently focused on the task instead of on Oliver. Innocent girls avoided eye contact when it was a conversation that mattered to them, and I needed to know how far I’d gotten with him this weekend. I only had six months to secure the blueprints, and that wasn’t very long if I didn’t get to see him every week.

“Jade, I really have no idea. All I know is that I am deeply attracted to you. Isn’t that enough for now?” I looked up into his burning, dark eyes. Christ, a woman could drown in pure desire from those scorching orbs.

“I’m sorry. I’ll stop with the heavy,” I conceded, looking at my watch. “What time are you leaving?”

“In about ten minutes.” He sighed deeply, raking his eyes over me. “I don’t even have time to take you again.”

I choked a little on my coffee, nearly spitting it across the table. “Wasn’t the five times earlier enough?” Oh, this guy had stamina; I had to give him that. Oliver would be like my dream man if I actually had the option to date. Why did he have to be my target? Why couldn’t I have met him after my contract ended?

“No,” he smoldered, getting up from his chair. He cannot be serious!

“You’re meeting the Prime Minister, remember?” I pointed out as he pulled me out of my chair and to my feet. “I’m pretty sure he’s not the kind of guy who likes tardiness.”

“I’ll be counting each day until I can see you again,” Oliver said with a sigh as he ran his nose down my neck. I couldn’t help but arch up toward him as his hand gripped my ass firmly. “Oh, the things I’m going to do to you when that happens, Jade. Maybe it’s a good thing we’ll be apart for a few weeks.”

“You mean there’s more?”

I groaned as his left hand moved to palm my breasts over his shirt.

“I haven’t even started with you yet, Beautiful,” he murmured huskily before his lips crashed against mine.

I was breathless when we finally broke apart. “You’ll call me as soon as you arrive home, won’t you?” I pleaded, running my hands over the back collar of his shirt.

“Yes,” Oliver smiled, caressing my face softly. “Okay, now I really need to leave.” He seemed honestly troubled by that, as if he didn’t want to go. Wow, I never thought it would be this easy.

Then again, I did still have the task of finding out which property stored his secure hard drive. That wasn’t going to be easy.

“Enjoy your meeting,” I grinned, “and tell the Prime Minister I said ‘Hi.’” Oliver chuckled as he kissed me softly, his hands lingering on my face before he pulled away.

“I’m really glad I met you, Jade Gibbs. I will see you very soon.”

“I’m looking forward to it,” I blushed, watching his eyes roam over me one last time before he turned to leave.

“You’re welcome to get ready here. Just let reception know once you’ve checked out,” he called over his shoulder, picking up his briefcase. His luggage had already been taken down earlier when the breakfast cart had been delivered.

“Okay, thank you,” I replied, smiling weakly.

“I’ll call you every day if you want me to.” Oliver appeared to be stalling, and I was pretty sure I knew why. Jade, you have well and truly hooked him.

“Only if you have the time,” I answered, playing with my hands.

“I’ll make the time.” His voice was firm as he took one last look at me and then finally left.
Wow, this mission was going effortlessly so far.

Unofficial Leather Kilt Day

This is not an “official” day. In fact today is the following: National earmuff Day, National Open and Umbrella indoors day and National Coconut Torte day, to name but a few . but who wants to celebrate those.

In my book, At Their Service, the men all wear leather kilts. It’s a cultural thing because they live on a different planet. I wanted you to be able see exactly the sort of thing I had in mind when I was writing the book. So here are some hotties in leather kilts.
